East Renfrewshire Council recently held an event in the Avenue Shopping Centre to collect views on improving access and facilities in the area, particularly for active travel (walking and cycling). You can view the discovery boards used at this event on the project webpage by using the link below.
You can also view the boards in the Newton Mearns Public Library during opening times and add your ideas and comments on the sheets provided. The boards will be available in the library until the end of April 2023.
The boards provide a vision of how the area around The Avenue could be improved in the future to help tackle the climate emergency. Your views are important please take a few minutes to have a look and fill in the survey if you have not already done so.

Our local action plan consultation for Newton Mearns closes on Monday 20 June, so if you haven't yet submitted your ideas, there is still time!
We've had some great ideas and engagement from the local community, so if you're already added your thoughts, why not go and check what others have said? If you like any of them, you can give it a 'thumbs-up'. A big thanks to everyone who have participated.
The town centre regeneration event at Albertslund Hall tomorrow still has spaces available, so if you'd like to attend, you can book here: https://www.bgateway.com/events/town-centre-regeneration-newton-mearns-23783
And if you're part of a community group and have an idea for something you'd like to see in your neighbourhood, applications are open for the Place Based Investment Programme fund. You can find further information and how to apply here: https://www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk/PBIP
